Invitation to Watch Party June 15: Heather McGhee featured speaker at "Voices for Children"

Keystone is hosting a watch party on Wed. June 15 at 7 pm, where we will be viewing a special program

featuring Heather McGhee, renowned expert on the American economy and author of the New York Times

bestseller The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together.

The program is part of Children’s Alliance’s annual Voices for Children fundraiser. It will feature Heather in

conversation with their Executive Director, Dr. Stephan Blanford. Together, they will explore why racism

continues to persist, even as it imperils our shared future and diminishes opportunity for many kids.

Keystone cares about the work that Children’s Alliance is doing for kids and Keystone does ongoing advocacy to help ensure that every child in Washington, regardless of race or income, grows up with the opportunities to reach their full potential. We know how very important these issues are to those in our Keystone network.

Dave, Barb, and I are excited to invite you to our Keystone Watch Party of Heather McGhee's time with the Children's Alliance, when she shared a virtual fireside dialogue with the Executive Director of the Children's Alliance Stephan Blanchard (June 7 event: Voices for Children 2022.)

This Watch Party follows our regular 3rd Wednesday of the month prayer time:

June 29: Washcloth drive + Keystone supper out back: hear about new outreach plans in progress

Save the Date! Outreach Update @ Keystone Playground & Washcloth Drive.

Rita will share about new homeless outreach plans in progress.

The 5th Wednesday of June, bring your supper over to the church playground, as we discuss plans beyond Sacred Heart. Rita (in step with Barb and Michelle) will be bringing several updates from our new homeless outreach planning in progress. Come hear where we are at; bring your questions; we will be sketching some of what is unfolding as we have been shifting with Sacred Heart, and alongside Tent City, and we also have some new directions growing. Our next outreach season will surely carry our marks for: local, do-able, & collegial! We are looking forward to June 29 as a short gathering for learning & fellowship & supper together. & It is also a washcloth drive for the Urban Rest Stop. Bring any donation of new washcloths. Kid- friendly, out back at church (all outside.) If you want to grab your meal at the farmers market, it is open across the street!
